Re: Durafly T28 Trojan for a 2nd plane

I would not write of Hobby king. Recently I got a corsair. Good looking model. Use Purolator to BC from WA warehouse or holiday in WA and pick up the order. I picked up and they wanted me to do a thorough inspection because grabbing another from the warehouse was much easier than email and snail mail replacement...in their words!

Re: Durafly Planes available where?

I have seen a few Durafly planes being flown lately at the local airfield and am, more or less quite impressed with these planes.

They have 1,100mm wing spans, not quite as full sized as the FMS 1,400 planes .

Talking to the owners of these planes they are more or less the same price as the Dynam planes but with better components. With the 1,100mm wingspans they are ideal in size for transporting in most cars.

Where can Durafly planes be purchased other than HobbyKing.?

I have read so many horror stories of people not being able to obtain parts and also of just plain poor customer service that I would not shop HobbyKing but who else carries these planes?

If it flies like the Parkzone T28 you should be fine. If you're nervous dial down the control throws, dial in a little expo (30% seems to be a good starting point) and take it easy on the throttle the first few flights. Get up nice and high and experiment till you're comfortable.

I'm just about 1 year out from when I started flying...first plane was an ultra micro T-28. Went straight from that to a 600mm Mitsubishi Zero which is still my most difficult plane to fly...speed to scale ratio is a little silly on that one. Now I'm flying fully 3D capable glow and electric planes, I have a nice glow powered bipe and I'm just finishing up a 35cc gas powered 3D plane. I was nervous at maiden for each one but once they are in the air you realize that all the controls are the same and it's just a matter of how much input you need.

All your practice with the Apprentice should have developed muscle memory for the controls and how to control it at different orientations. Only difference with the T28 is it will more or less do what you tell it and nothing else, it won't self level as much as the Apprentice, but since you already know what the sticks do it's just a matter of pushing them in response to what you see the plane doing.

Good luck...I suspect you'll do great!

The Durafly P28 is almost the same as the Parkzone P28. I went ahead and bought it since the price was right. I did order the correct size battery since the 3200 is much larger. Hoping it flys as good as it looks.

I don't know the plane you reference. Do you have a link to some information?

What about this plane is attractive to you?

Durafly T28 Trojan for a 2nd plane

I have been flying my Apprentice all summer and a found this used plane in the Kijji ads. Am I making a mistake upgrading from a slow and stable trainer to this plane? I usually fly the Apprentice with no problems but have crashed it a few times this summer.
2nd question, will my 3200 LIPO 11.1V battery work in the T28 when the specs recommend a 2200 LIPO 11.1V.
Thanks.
