Re: The Future of Giant Scale

Here is a link to TC's recommendations for flying a "drone" safely and this includes our model aircraft.

You know, generalizations based on single incident does not make it a rule, right? Just sayin.

Look up a couple of posts, and see the TC website I posted, there are no restrictions that didn't exist before. TC recognizes MAAC and the safety guidelines, therefore follow the MAAC rules, be a part of the organization and fly accordingly, NO 300 foot limit.

Direct from TC Website, no worries or restrictions regarding altitude if you are a member of a MAAC and abide by their safety guidelines.

Look at the FAQ section below.

Awesome. Have at it and let us know the multiple reasons why. Was it the cost to transport? Was it the lack of drive to build a huge coffin to transport on a plane? Was it because they had a chance to fly something without doing all of the above?

I'm curious, let us know what you find out. I'm also quite sure that if you removed the Lipos from the model you wouldn't even classify the plane as TDG.

Cannot fly any kind of humpty with rolling elements in that space.
On FPV Lab there was a comparison of what Canada has in their recommendations vs the US we lost on all fronts. There are literally hundreds of pages on UAVs and I didn't bookmark that page.

I thought you were referring to Giant Scale Airplanes. That's what I was searching for on your behalf. I didn't realize you went off on a tangent.

Re: The Future of Giant Scale

A couple specific items of interest to me are rail car over-loads. The how penalties and/or fines are assessed. How available rail cars (grain) are allocated to shippers.....

I also want to see specifically how Lithium based batteries may be transported by each mode of transportation. National and International shipping, and whose regulations apply to carriers.

The Minister of Transport (IMO) is one of the busiest and most important jobs in Cabinet. Sadly toy airplanes probably didn't get more than a fleeting glace when the all the TC regs were up for review,,,, just sayin'.
