Re: What engine for 50cc Aeroworks Edge 540 Whether we like it or not, the manufacturer's really do know their products. Aeroworks is a leader in this type of plane and that 16 pound craft is wonderfully OVER powered with a 50cc engine - it will exceed your abilities quite nicely.   To put anything larger into it will cause balance problems as well as over stress the airframe (assuming you CAN balance the plane)  I would suggest that you keep to the manufacturer's guidelines until you can prove that the manufacture is WRONG. This does happen from time to time - but I have never heard of it happening with an Aeroworks product. Happy Landings |
