MikeZ LOL Yeah I realized my motor didn't even get warm during the whole weekend.

I actually thought I blew my ESC though however it turned out my radio froze being outside and the model memory for my E-buggy was corrupt! Only cost me two qualifiers.

The electronics in the car performed awesome all weekend!

S.Bortolotti The fan is useless Mike...this isn't onroad! lol

MikeZ The good news is the wire does go forward and is away from power wires. I think you see the 12v fan wires.

If I do encounter interference though then I will make it ugly and move that BEC completely away from the esc.

Dave Henry Looks good mike but.......
I think I see the wires from a castle bec (the little blue guy next to the rx running amidst the large motor wires. Sometimes you can have a small amount of current jump from the large power wires into the small bec wires (magnetic field created by high current flow/inductance into the small wires I think) that could cause issues with older non 2.4 ghz radio systems. You would probably be fine but if it was mine I would run the bec wires forward under the battery box and avoid the large motor and battery wires.

MikeZ Thanks for everyone's help!

I got it all wired up and ready for the weekend!

MikeZ Yes, my dad has a few airplanes with high voltage that scare me as well. LOL

Alright guys, I will leave it as is!

Thanks!

Dave Henry Mike I would leave the switch on the esc. You could add one to the bec also so you would have two switches but I would not bother. Just plug it in a minute or two before your run and turn on your radio and esc.

Hey mike if 14.8v scares you you should see my 10 cell lipo airplane. It is 42v when fully charged.

bobf24 I wouldn't want the ESC to have power with no RX signal personally, same reason you always turn the car off before turning the radio off, chances are it would work fine most of the time but there could be that one time it goes WFO and takes everything on your bench out or worse,

MikeZ Hey guys!

I am in the process of getting the BEC installed however I was thinking about Dave's point about rx being powered as soon as I plug the battery in.

I was thinking I should add a switch to the BEC. I was thinking I would cut the ESC switch and hard wire the ESC and then put the switch inline on the positive BEC power wire.

I realize the ESC will be ON as soon as I plug in however there will be no RX signal so it should be ok.

What do you guys think? Should I just live with the RX being powered and switch esc on/off as normal(only controls motor I assume?).

I hope to do this tomorrow so please let me know!

The other option is to lose the switch completely for both, problem with that though is 14.8v scares me. LOL

Thanks!

MikeZ Yup that is a good point.

Hopefully it all works as it should. LOL
