Yes, got one thanks. Actually, I'm not sure this hub would have fit without it as the drive shaft is quite long.

So I bought a new spinner hub for the Saito, it's a Harry Higley, simple aluminum safety hub. Fits perfectly, no problems at all. Same size (7mmx1) as the DuBro one that caused me all the trouble. Go figure.

Re: Unbelievable...fixed, thanks.

I got my Saito parts today and put on the new collet and flange. The engine seems good, turns over smooth and makes the appropriate pops and hisses (). The valve timing looks good too. I got a new rear bearing set, but decided to hold off on that for now as the drive shaft spins very smoothly and freely when disconnected from the piston and cam shaft.

Some awesome advice I got from another thread was:

If it's out of time one will be closed and the other opened.
Great way to double check that the cogs are lined up properly! Thanks Flypaper! Very easy to do if you take the glow plug out so you can see the piston.

Again, the weather in Calgary has been rotten the whole week, so I'll have to wait to run the engine, but I'm comfident it will perform well.

If you send me the engine, and bearings I will replace your bearings, replace the drive washer/collet (dont buy one I will fix you up) and also put on a new spinner nut for you I guarantee wont do that.

I have made and used a ton of spinner nuts, never, ever had one stick. If its the correct threads and there is no damage to the crank nose it will be fine. Dont let this one experience scare you off.

If you are interested, PM me and I will mail youmy address. I will do the work for free, and just pay me back for the return postage.

That's very good of you for sure. I have already ordered the flange/collet from the LHS so I'll put that on and see how it goes. I'll get back to you if I'm having problems with it. These 4-stroke engines seem to be giving me grief, but I need to learn how to deal with them and there's only one way to do that (despite being a clumsy oaf who ends up wrecking things in the process!!!). I grew up on the farm where if you can't fix it yourself, you're basically out of business (and it's probably a long walk home).

Re: Unbelievable...fixed, thanks.

You know, this whole thing was very irritating. When I bought the spinner nut there was a cross reference on the package to determine the correct size. At first it seemed to fit properly, but then this happened. Not sure what to make of it, but I won't be mounting another one of those for sure.

The engine is probably OK but will need a new drive flange and collett. I took the engine apart in the end to check it out and think it needs a new rear bearing set also, and the valve rocker gap was too high on one of the rockers so I adjusted that.
