OV50 is a real nice heli. You'll like it a lot.....

I have a ... wait for it ... a Compass 3D-Plus (same size as the OV50) on the way.

So, out of curiousity, what engine are you thinking of putting into it?

I was originally leaning towards the OS 55HZ-H Hyper myself. But now, I'm toying with the idea of a KME Diamond 60 pro if I can shoehorn it... LOL!

If it were my choice, it'd be running alcohol and shooting flames out the pipe whilst blasting Megadeth ....

Jimmy - a little off topic, and feel free to PM me with a response so I don't hijack the thread here.... you're not far from me, we're just outside Winnipeg. Infact, my family has a cabin on LotW. Got a club out there? Any cool funflies going on this summer? We're starting Team Compass (Canada) this year and getting out to a bunch of fun flies.

Re: Outrage Velocity 50

I also fly a lot which is why I bought it. My Velocity 50 was used with one season of 3D flying on it. Radial, thrust, main shaft and tail shaft bearings are still good. Nothing appears worn or following apart prematurely. Will it fly all next season without any maintenance, only time will tell.

If you want a helicopter that has a minimal parts count and requires very little maintenance then I would suggest a Mikado Logo 600. I am building one now and it is hands down the best helicopter I have ever owned. Quite a few of the guys I fly with had them last year and they require very little maintenance. Hope this helps.

Yes I am aware of who sells them, but I am not aware of the reliability of the machine, I spend a lot of time flying and don't want something that wears out in 20 hours of flight.

Re: Outrage Velocity 50

I bought one late this year and haven't had a chance to fly it yet. They are a nicely designed kit and you can swing up to 640 mm blades on it. It has a lot of nice little features like having the fuel tank offset in the frame to compensate for the muffler weight. Parts are similar in price to Align and RotorQuest here in Toronto now stocks the parts and kits. The only negative thing is which applies to all nitro helicopters is the cost of fuel these days.
