Re: 30cc Aerobat

I agree with Brad. I also use a 2100 Mah Life battery powering the receiver in my 30cc plane. I also have a 1500 Mah batt on board for the ignition. With this setup I can go all day.

Thanks man
At 400 ma per flight 2 1/2 flights equals 1000 ma
What are you using? Life or lion?

Re: 30cc Aerobat

Hi Craig,
A 30 cc with digital servos can use between 2 and 400 mah per flight, depending on how hard you fly and how long.

A few of us have found that a 2100 will give you 4 flights safely of hard 3D at about 10 min each flight with some wiggle room.

I like to use a single 3200 pack. Because I do manage to get in that 5th or 6th flight on occasion
Even my 50cc is a single 3200 pack. I also run the ignition off of it. I can safely get 6 flights.

Strangely enough, when you up the voltage, your amp usage also goes up.
So its not exactly a direct comparison to NiCd or NiMh.

30cc Aerobat

How big of a battery are you folks using in a 30cc size aircraft?
I was flying a 30cc Sukhoi with an 1100 mah LiFe battery.
The aircraft has 6 digital servos:
1 Spektrum 821 (I think) on throttle
1 Hitec 5645 on rudder
4 Turnigy 958 ailerons, elevators

Things started to get slow part way through my third flight of the day and for the first time in my life I made a wise decisionto land imeediately.
lost all control just as I was to touch down - it hit hard and busted the motor box.
I charged the battery in the AM before heading out - So I think it was well charged at the start of the flying session. We checked it immediately after and it was dead. I put 1000 ma into it when I charged it after the disaster. It was dead.

I was using a 2000 mah NiMH last year with no issues.

thanks for your comments.
