Re: Looking For Some Pointers On New Build Thanks for the feedback, I removed the landing gear as well as the gimbal, put back the original landing and changed out to 10 inch props. Total weight with 3s 4500mAh is now 1490 grams. fly's great now. Going to try 11 inch props with the hope of adding the gimbal back... now on to the OSD issue |

Re: Looking For Some Pointers On New Build Going to a 4s battery would work if you got a smaller capacity battery and flew at the stripped down weight. A larger prop would only be a tiny increase in thrust compared with a higher voltage battery. You need a power system that can provide 500 grams of thrust at 50% to fly with all your stuff. Ecalc.ch is a great place to run the numbers on stuff like this. |

Re: Looking For Some Pointers On New Build Thanks for the reply, I weighed it and it comes in at 1965g including the 3s 4500mah pack. once I take of the landing gear, gimbal and cam it some in at 1350g. Not sure how much more I can pull off to still have some function. Wonder if larger props would do it? |

Re: Looking For Some Pointers On New Build How much does it weigh ready to fly? Looking at reviews you can expect about 210 grams of thrust per motor at 50% throttle with those props on a 3s battery. So anything about 840 grams is going to be tough to get to hover at half throttle where it should be. If you cant take off at full throttle you must either be really heavy or something else is stopping you. A typical 3s 4500mah pack is around 350 grams so I'm thinking your problem with weight. |

Looking For Some Pointers On New Build Hi, I'm somewhat new to multi rotors and have just completed my first full build. I have some issues with getting my OSD to display data however that's a minor issues that I'm sure at some point I'll figure out. My larger issue is that it does not seem to have enough lift to get off the ground. Im not sure what the problem is other they it may be too heavy. I've tried to remove the landing gear, cam and gimbal and it dose just barely get off the ground however it almost requires full throttle and I can see its really struggling to stay up. The build components are all new and as follows: - F450 Frame - 4x DJI 2212 920Kv motors - 4x 30A ESC, not sure of the brand - 4x DJI 9.4x4.3 carbon fiber props - APM 2.8 flight controller, M8N GPS, Telemety & OSD - Fr Sky X8R RX - TS832 video TX - 3S 4500mAh 45c Battery Any help would be greatly appreciated |
