What about a boogie board? I've seen people use them for projects they are fabric covered foam, pretty cheap, and already have the right shape.

You could use a rectangle piece of blue or pink foam and glue two
model plane foam floats on either side. Use ply for the motor pylon.
Fiberglass cloth and epoxy resin over the foam .

Hull material ---- Coreplast??

Hi

I am new to r/c and am planning on building an airboat.

I have a motor ( OS max 40fp ) and servos and a controller.

My big question now is what to use to make the hull out of. I do plan on fiberglassing. I thought of using that cheap wood paneling people used to ues in the basements, but I am unsure if it still available. Then I thought of polystryene, but once fiberglassed will it be too heavy? Coreplast, you know the stuff they make all the signage out of. It's like plactic cardboard. It is easly cut, glued and it's only about $20 for a 4' x 8' sheet.

I don't know any ideas, comments

Thanks
