Unfortunately this takes a while to obtain, the zone director has to approve the flying site (same as our float fly event), then insurance committee or something, then the insurance company has to be informed then they send out a letter and we have to get that to the field officer who then delivers it to the city office.

Re: Indoor flying in Mississauga...

The City of Mississauga made us get their insurance for this event.

I am not sure what they would say if we said we had our own from MAAC, but for now, this opens a few doors for others who may not have it right now.

And just maybe it will get them interested and therefore get their MAAC anyway.

Boy, do i wish i had some idea of how many were thinking of showing up!

It could be 10, or it could be 50, but i do get the feeling that it will become a more regular event.

See you then,

Scott

MAAC will, but then everyone will have to be MAAC members.

Toronto offers their own insurance, an better way to go because then you won't need to police MAAC membership.

We can look into it later on as this event progresses, first couple nights will be to see how much crowd we get and then we'll move forward. Plus I don't know if MAAC can sanction rented out venue like this, something to look into down the road..

Re: Indoor flying in Mississauga...

Why not get the venue sanctioned with MAAC and then all you'd need is all the fliers to have MAAC insurance? That's assuming everyone has MAAC.
