Great Planes new 30-35CC Escapade

Shoulder winged - semi-symetrical-airfoil - honest crank/bank and goes where you point it! can do all the basic aerobatics with ease. Has a flap feature you can use or choose not use - I didn't use them

Re: Best Second Airplane

If your club is leading you toward nitro and willing to train you in the proper operation of internal combustion engines I would take them up on the offer. In the future if you decide to try electric you will have a good background on safety, care and respect for your equipment and fellow members.

Many, many, many of us started with nitro and survived. Over the years we have lost a few for reasons unknown to Me to electrics.
I am one who likes to hear My airplane flying, it adds so much to the experience to tune and fly a nice internal combustion engine powered Airplane.
When you advance to that P51 Mustang or P40 Warhawk will you be happy with that low and fast pass electric WEEEEEEE sound?

Well then ... when in Rome. Go nitro.

I disagree with going to nitro so early ..if at all. But then I do not fly at a field where nitro is allowed at all.

Re: Best Second Airplane

So many choices! I am def leaning towards the T-28, but the head instructor at my club is really pushing me in the direction of a nitro trainer...

Re: Best Second Airplane

did you have the micro champ? If so then maybe better to get a 4 channel 30-50" Cub as a next step. If your champ is already park flyer size, then maybe it is time for a Warbird ...

The most popular warbird after a Cub around here is the Parkzone Corsair. The extra dihedral makes it more stable, AND it is ideal for belly landing with plastic skids on the 'knees' of the wings. but then I went with a 1.4m Nitroplanes P51. However I recommend against those nitroplane products - Parkzone and Hobbyking Durafly and FLyzone are a much better choice for refinement and reliability. At my field there is a lot of satisfaction with Pakrzone and Durafly.
