Re: 11" indoor Micro Avro Arrow

Dave,
sorry I missed your post on this.

I did get the plans produced but this little machine turned out to be a bit of a handful as when it slowed down the controls became ineffective because of a lack of prop wash over the controls. I did build a bigger version with a mid mounted prop trying to overcome the issue and it was a better flier.

This winter I will build another version with some improvements on the learnings and will keep you posted.

So far so good as I had a successful outdoor maiden today (Video Below). It flies well and is overpowered and a little fast so I am thinking of stretching it to 12"
Specs:
all 2mm depron foam construction.
11" span - 15" long
weight 32G. with battery
225ma 1S pack
Spektrum 6400 brick receiver.. separate 3a esc for C05m brushless motor.
mini quad pusher prop.

If there is interest I will do a build log and throw some plans together for the 12 incher as I build it...

thanks for looking

Hi,
Just curious if you ever completed your 12 in version of the Avro arrow? We're you able to fly it slow enough for indoor flying?
Did you developever plans?
Would be interested in making one myself.

Ok boys.. LETS GIVE THIS A TRY...

this is the version 1.0 of the templates... very basic but its a simple plane... will try and do a build log as I go but this might be a slow process as its a busy time of the year... These are the templates I will be building off of.. no radio install shown yet as its a work in progress... my motor and new "stabilized brushless Brick reciver" arrived and have to figure out balance as I go

Its a start. hope I can convince a few of you to build along...

those interested in a dxf please PM me your email and i will send it to you... can't attach a dxf here..

Chris

Its just a flat plate with the leading edge cranked down 10 deg and the trailing edge raised 5.. The two cranked edges meet at the tips causing some washout..

here are a few pics of my 55mm EDF.. it flys very well... might be able to see the airfoil

Must get back at mine. Too many things on the go. Here is the pink foam carving. I''ll crank the leading edge down at the crank in the wing for a bit of washout.

I'm in for set of PDF file plans for the indoor Arrow. Few years ago I bought a 18" WS model of pusher Arrow, it was a lawn dart then a flying model. Looking forward to ur Arrow Chris.
