Re: Eflite vs. Phase 3 F-16

I used to get stuff from Jack and Arden, their great guys, but, since they moved out to the west end it's not very convenient. I go to Pinnacle and have found those chaps to be very helpful and accomodating. Now, since I am moving more and more into electrics, we have a chap in Ajax, Kelly Curl at Flying Stuff Hobbies, who is a member of my R/C club and he is very knowledgeable and helpful too.

Re: Eflite vs. Phase 3 F-16

Phase 3 is the best for is price and I loved . I glassed mine and I have a Hoffman motor/fan with CC 45 amp ESC, with 45 C 3s lipo's.
Way over 100 mph and the plane fly rock solid.

Re: Eflite vs. Phase 3 F-16

I did decide to buy the Phase 3 F-16. I absolutely love it. I flew it for the first time in February and have had many flights since. I haven't broken anything yet (knock on wood). I had to buy a couple of batteries in Toeldo as I use the same batteries as my Trex 450 as well. Definately well worth the money.

Re: Eflite vs. Phase 3 F-16

Bought the phase3 F16 used here on RC canada. Sure glad I did. It is a great first EDF. Simple, fast, fun and cheap. Almost vertical power on stock motor/fan/ESC using my trex450 2200mah batteries. Yes the flying tail can break off, but not usually a problem on mowed grass. I only had problems when landing on rough crusty snow. Also it can be beefed up easily with thin cardstock or plywood. I think the elevons (evelons?) work much better than wing mounted servos. Two servos is all it needs (and a mixing radio). The plane will teach you the flying differences of an EDF, and can easily be repaired when you get a hard lesson. I've ripped a complete wing off but simply 5minute epoxied it back on with no adverse effects.
Thanks to the Phase3 F16, I couldn't wait to get my next EDF!
Cheers Eric

Re: Eflite vs. Phase 3 F-16

I have seen and flowen Kyosho F16( very good flyer and stable), Phase 3 flys well but tail is week and rips off durring landing. Horizon F16 is the best from them all. The power system is vey good and flys the best.

Re: Eflite vs. Phase 3 F-16

I can only speak on the phase 3 f16. I bought the jet for a simple plug and play edf, I've been more than pleased, it flies really well. The Kyosho F16 at our field look better but IMHO do not fly as well.

My post on another thread
"check out the Phase 3 F-16. I bought one off the web NIB for just over a hundred bucks.
There were a few of them flying at our field and I thought they were ho-hum.... until my buddy bought one - he is a former F-86 - T33 pilot ( full size).

He said, man you got to buy one of these F-16, they are a great bang for the buck so I did.

I love it, it hand lauches easliy, the motor, fan, and speed control work well, it flies good and was a cheap way for me to get to know about EDF's. Now I have a T33 and f-104 on the build.
cheers !

and the $18.99 Hobby City Flightpower 3s 2200 mah lipos work great on this F16 for me.

ps - I did get the little sucker up to 90mph on a radar gun one day.
