LOL....

Nice gimmick.

Be interesting to see how this pans out. If it's anything like how you guys tackled the off-road track, it'll be a hit for the on-road crowd. Just hope the rumours of the drivers stand being at the end of the straight are only that.... rumours. Looking forward to another GTA carpet track for sure.

S.Bortolotti Unless you're racing on high grip don't bother with the lightweight bodies.

TracktionRC Hey Fidel. Welcome to ORRC. What took you so long?

Is the on road track at Universal running now? I'll have to drop by to check it out. Being new to RC I've never seen on road, except on YouTube.

Dave Locke In very high traction conditions it can be the difference between traction rolling the car every corner or not. If traction isn't super high, it won't make much difference.

I honestly find the length of time a body lasts seems to be inversely proportional to how good the paint job looks, regardless of the weight of the shell. Crappy looking shells seem to last an eternity, but the coolest looking ones are usually destroyed within a few runs. Seriously.

RobS Back when we ran foam tires on Touring Cars going from a regular weight (.030 thickness) to a light weight (.020 thickness) it was a huge difference. You could easily trash a body in one run. Now that we run rubber tires and lightweight bodies are now only .025, they last a lot longer. However I find the performance difference between a regular weight and light weight body not as substantial compared to the old days.

big_bg Conceivably it makes sense as the lighter the body the lower the CG, but i don't think for the average guy it is going to make much of a difference. At the highest level of racing then yes they can see a difference. You'd likely be better off playing around with other body styles and seeking what works best for your driving style then seeing if you gain from a lightweight body. Pete is also right if your hitting board or other cars the lightweight body will last a much shorter time. IMO spend the money on more tires or other normal weight bodies.

Pete Elphinstone Jr If you can stay off the boards get a lightweight body, otherwise stay with a regular weight body.

Lightweight Bodies?

i'm just getting used to onroad setup and all that and on another forum a lot of guys say every now and then that lightweight bodies make a big difference.

Is this a worthwhile noticeable difference or am i better off sticking with the regular bodies? I'm afraid of going lightweight and have the body only last a week or two.
