Re: 1/3 scratch built stearman pretty big shoes for me to fill larry, my dad and uncle and grandfather all built beautiful planes, if it turns out half as good i will be ecstatic, and i know the moki is a must trev, i just dont know if i can find a buyer for one of my kidneys... i was told by the G/F i could buy it, but i think there are alterior motives behind that..... if i spend that much on a "toy airplane: motor im afraid of what i will have to spend on her. lol |

Re: 1/3 scratch built stearman Hey WildBill Looks to be a real cool build, I pick up mine with the covering 3/4 done, got it home and did not like what I saw ,so a complete strip was done ,new fuse formers ,stringers, added tubes and change the way the top center section fasten to the wing and fuse. The biggest change was the fire wall, the motor box looks very much like a Carden set up, where the motor box sides go from the fire wall back to the gear and lower wing tube/ socket. Its makes for a strong "Box". A moki 250 was in the plan but will be going with a DA-150 (I have a spare). And you will never guess what finishes is going on it. (Red Bull). Here is a pic, of what I have now and show a bit of how I am doing it . If there is any thing I can help you with ,just ask. Would be cool to get the two of them together, good luck on your build.
