With the new servo make sure you are not asking the servo to travel further then it's supposed to. After you get the new one, send the old one to HiTec - they have an AWESOME warranty. Never hurts to have a back-up servo in the pit box.
+1 to everything said there!

Oh, and VERY nice pictures BTW!! It's so much easier to help people out online with some good CLEAR pictures to go along with the description!!

You don't need to touch the brake side of things Michael, just take the screw off of the throttle linkage side, move it to the top of the servo horn instead of the bottom, loosen off the 1.5mm (most likely) set screw on the carb where the linkage attaches and then rotate the arm on the end of the carb until the linkage is nice and flat with no binding then tighten up the set screw again and you should be good to go!

It can be an annoying procedure to go through as sometime you have to keep taking the motor in and out, but once you get it done you shouldn't have to do it again.

Also, you will probably have to reset your end points just a little bit after that but it will work out nicely and you will have a smooth bind free setup

Michael_Lambert Well, With no binding and such now.. I can move the servo all over the place and it works like it should.. AS soon as i fire up the engine the servo goes out of control I am assuming its toast and the vibrations from the running motor are just sending it out of control.

imported_eurofocus One other thing, not sure how hard you were driving it, but check to make sure the radio tray hasn't cracked or the screws came loose) these trays are prone to breaking according to forums I've read... and mine flexes when I run my servos on the bench (yes, epa's are adjusted properly believe it or not... ) The tray itself could be holding the servo higher causing the binding.

Michael_Lambert I must have knocked something out of wack during the Main, After each qualifying i went through everything with a fine tooth comb, Checked all the screws, and linkages.. And i am sure i would have noticed the rubbing then... I konw i had a couple of pretty rough impacts during the main so i am sure something had to have shifted just enough to cause it.

I have been running it stock like this since day one and until now never had an issue.. But I will look into changing the horn layout. Just not sure if the center diff and breaks will get in the way like that.

Mike!!! rotate the ball stud on the carb so that you can mount the linkage ON TOP of the horn... lol. Thats the problem right there! lol.

imported_eurofocus I think I see what's wrong. You used the stock servo rubber mounts and that caused the servo to sit too high, putting stress on it. I had to use the old metal inserts in the new rubber mounts that came with my hitec servos, the ones that come with the hitec servos won't allow the stock screws to mount the servos.

Thanks Calvin, I will see who has it in stock tomorrow.. As i am hoping to have it back up and running for tuesday night.

Michael_Lambert It was binding from the servo horn area. Images below, I have not resolved this rubbing/binding issue.. I am not thinking that due to this over the course of how ever long caused it to heat up and do whatever damage it did.
