Ditto. Seized for trespassing would have been my excuse. You want it back? Pay up!

Ontario has a remedy - The Parental Responsibility Act

OOPS.....Speed reading and missed the RCMP article. I would guess that since it is a charge of impaired that his insurance co. will hear about it and they won't be very forgiving!!!!!

Since he was charged with impaired driving I think it is a safe bet his insurance will be through the roof anyway if convicted.

This would be a good way to go. It wouldnt cost you anything and I'm certain the insurance company will want to know about his behaviour. Going with the courts could tie you up time wise with remands and missed court appearances by the accused. Just my 2 pennies.

Re: Flying field vandalism

It will be interesting to hear how it turns out!

There are several strikes against the insurance claim in my mind:

#1 Happened on private property, not a public highway.(parking lots fall between the cracks too)

#2 Intentional vandalisim, not a collision.

#3 Alcohol involved

Some insurance companies are quite liberal in thier interpetation of the fine print, some are quite a##l.

Lets hope for the best!

I still think we would be talking about apples and oranges here. Accidents are different from intentional vandalism. Drinking or not there will be different fine print to cover that. But yes, get the facts from the insurance to be sure.

Re: Flying field vandalism

If driver is drunk, insurance will NOT pay for damage to owner's vehicle but WILL pay for victim's health care and property damage. This was told to me from a friend living in New Brunswick. Get in touch with the insurance company!!!
