Re: Revolutionary Props, A Brand New Prop Deisgn!

Been a while so I thought I'd resurrect this thread. Any updates (from any and all who got it?).

Max,
I am not a prop expert or a person that requires or would notice finite performance from my propellers, that being said, I hope I don't tip it on the tarmac. It's pretty steep, but I would replace it.

Does that make any sense?

I found the reduced thrust was good for putting a little more "Feel" in a harrier and hover. It also torqued a good amount which I thought weird, I liked it though.

Down line breaking was great! I like the plane to come down slow, about as fast as going up.

Interesting sound too. Kind of choppy without being loud.
One of the comments from the peanut gallery was that it sound like a plane should.

I had to re-cut my spinner after I got back from the field as the blades are pretty wide. Today it flew without a spinner in-case the prop was a dud. All in all, I am pretty happy with the 78 buck prop.

The only concern I have is that the layup has some little tiny air pockets in the weave, is that fairly normal?
Great. Thanks for the update.

So the question is, is it worth the 78 bucks? Is there that much of a difference that you would rather reach for this prop and pay the difference because you know you will get the performance that you cant get with a regular prop? Just curious.

Close your eyes when you start the motor.
You can't see it when its spinning LOL.

I would be willing to try one when they are available for the 100cc class.
Or even for the DLE30

I just came in from the run in area (Side yard). Couldn't even see the thing turning.

I did get to hear it though, not too bad spinning at 6850. Not too sure if it was pulling very hard though. My Zoar 23x8 in comparison spins 6500 - 6600 on my plane.

Wednesday I will know if it is a keeper.

Re: Revolutionary Props, A Brand New Prop Deisgn!

The torsional loads on such a design must be insane.

From an engineering standpoint, I would be curious to know what they did to test the fatigue life and failure modes of such a design. No doubt such a design would only work using CF material.
It would also require the owner to be very careful about any damage to the prop within the first 2-3" of the prop hub, since that is where most of the torsional loads would be concentrated. If (when?) a prop of this design would fail, it would be sudden and catastrophic. Close inspection of this prop would probably be part of the owners pre-flight check.

I would love to see one "up-close-and-personal"
