Forget the racks I'd kill for a garage like that. =/

Did see soemthing on either RCC or RCG as a new product -- essentially foam racking that takes the fuselage and wing(s) and everything is in a box-like format. You then stack them to store multiople planes. Darned if I can remember where I saw it and I cleaned out my history this morning.....

The ends have cutouts for the relevant end of the wings and fuselage, with side pieces that give the box shape. Came in different designs for different types of models. Basic price was $60 for a single unit.

Re: Wing & Fuselage rack for wall mount

Some great ideas, having just moved I need to set up my workshop.

I don't have the room I used to, (13x33 ft) so I need to maximize my space in a basement room.

No offence meant, but all these ideas look to work really well for 40-60 sized plane. What about 80" wingspan & bigger planes? the horizontal stab won't allow the fuselage to sit so snugly against the wall. Anyone doing something differently??

I have small electric planes. I hang them by the tail

Re: Wing & Fuselage rack for wall mount

Just threw together a portable wing rack. Portable cuz I am constantly moveing things around in my basment right now.

Some quick details. Made from 2x4, holes are every 3 inches on center. The holes are drilled 3 inches deep on an angle, and enlarged so the dowels go in a lil easier.

5/8 inch dowels, wrapped with 3/4 inch pipe insulation, dowels are 15 inches long, giveing me 12 inchs to lay most wings and fuse's on.

3/4 inch ply bottom and 3 inch swivel locking wheels..

To keep it from wanting to tip over ( its pretty stable tho) I've got a small tote box with sand in it, I'll put on the plywood bottom.
