Not really Frank, I've seen guys just tape it to bottom of the wing with tubes and all for some speed runs then take it off, ideally putting it in the wing flush is the better way. If its for the PEPPO I think the wing is solid so you could dremal some groves in the underside for the tubes and put the unit in the fuse, the unit itself is tiny.
IMO it is the most accurate way of measuring speed on a model, and affordable to boot.

You will still need a Spektrum Telemetry capable TX & RX and a Spektrum Telemetry Module TM1000 or TM 1100, all required sensors and an I-Phone, I-Pad etc. as the STI only reads from a functioning Spektrum Telemetry transmitting and receiving system.

Re: How fast and how high thing

Hi Frank ....

You may already have it ..... for larger airframes |I have just stuck in my car GPS unit ..... a Garmin 265w .... just reset trip data put it in at CoG (with a few rubber bands) and go for a flight ..... it reports max speed ..... another flyer had a different model which also reported max altitude .....

Not recommended for smaller planes but over 20cc powered there is usually enough room to stow it for a flight or two .....
