Re: Vaillancourt Hurricane plans wanted * FOUND*

Glad to hear, long week, got out flying yesterday, thank goodness, all better now. Working on the landing gear doors for the full sized Hurricane, that's a project all in itself. For a wartime aircraft, they put a whole lot of effort into the damn doors! lol

No Hard feelings. When we are passionate about something, emotions can sometimes get the better of us. Happens to me all the time. Just ask my wife. LOL. Thanks for the offer. I may take you up on that

I should add as well, I've got a ton of Hurricane info, have cut several kits for people of the VA Hurricane, and have a Mick Reeves kit, that's been essential for the full sized Hurricane build. I'd love to hear what mods you're looking at for your Hurricane, and if you, or anyone else, is looking for documentation, photos, etc, please don't hesitate to contact me, be glad to offer any assistance I can.

You have a point, and certainly wasn't a personal attack. My apologies, if our paths ever meet, consider a beer owed.

Re: Vaillancourt Hurricane plans wanted * FOUND*

I checked the forums and others were looking for plans as well. THAT is why my thread is there. Your original beef was me not buying the plans from the guy who designed them. Now I posted on the wrong forum?
I have since been brought up to speed on past issues here regarding plans and I understand your concerns. You have my respect as a fellow builder but I think airing your beefs on my thread is against the rules and unapropriate as well.A simple P.M would have sufficed. Hard not to take personally. Why not start your own thread and discuss your issues as a community instead of trying to make an example out of me and lets move on.

I totally understand where you're coming from, and if the thread was used plans for sale", that's fine. More of a beef with RCC, as they clearly state:

RCC Plans Exchange This is a place for RCC members to exchange plans that they own (they have drawn). Please note that commercial plans will not be allowed. If you do not have the rights to post the plans, do not post them.

Given that I haven't seen a set of drawn plans posted on here to share, this particular forum isn't being used for it's intended purpose, and we're all ignoring the rules. Everyone of course has the right to buy/sell used products, but not on this forum. Wanted Other, would be the appropriate place. RCC, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

I get what your saying Steve.....I know you have, in more ways than one, supported the kit building aspect of this hobby lately. I am also looking at other avenues to escape buying from the USA. I have found you a set of plans in BC. Really, thinking about it guys, as long as we continue to build and demand these plans etc they will undoubtedly be produced.

P.S. Dave and I are passionate builders at heart.

I appreciate your comment and actually agree with you. However the same could be said about every aspect of our hobby. How many guys out there have bought then sold Vailly, ziroli,Platt, etc products? How many guys have BOUGHT their used stuff? Heck, guys buy Chinese even though it puts our neighbours out of work. Last year I gave MR.Platt nearly $900 of my hard earned cash for DVD's. At the time I could afford it. That doesn't mean I am obligated to hold on to them forever. As I stated in my Original post, It is a matter of economics. You can't support everyone all the time. This is a topic for different thread. Not mine. Just looking for a break on a set of plans.

Great post Dave! You are absolutely right! You get every penny's worth when you spend your money with these guys. I recently got some plans from Ziroli and they were excellent! Shipping was fast and well packaged!
