Re: Weiss 1/3 Fokker DVIII My Dr1 kit sits patiently in the cue...... Definitely going with the Reeves gear drive also. I probably will not start mine until the fall...... I will spend the summer finishing the DVIII and cutting Gotha parts...RIBS, RIBS and more RIBS!!! I am enjoying the new shop, loads of work space! |

Re: Weiss 1/3 Fokker DVIII I was able to start the other side last night....I couldn't help putting it together.....Lots of work left! I pin all joints with small carbon fiber rods about 1/2"-3/4" long. I drill a hole down through the joint and then insert the carbon fiber rod. I finish it off with thin CA, it wicks right down the rod. This makes for a nice strong joint with little to no weight gain. Scott |
