If anyone is looking .... this is what Kevin is running for a generator and they're on sale at Canadian Tire again for $189

So far, it's been reliable, relatively quiet, and keeps up with his charging demands well enough.

Re: Need Advice on Genny and Charging System

If you are going to do it once, I would say the new Dual PL8, two of the efuel 1200W power supplies, and a 2000-3000W inverter. If you want to save a little money now but able to build on it later, 2000W inverter running a single PL8 and efuel PS then add a second PL8 and PS later.

If you are feeling brave, with either the dual PL8 or an iCharger 4010 duo you can use a 48V PS. This opens up a range of server power supplies that can be easily converted for a lot less than even a single efuel. You can then add them in parallel which is safer than floating the DC ground to hook supplies up in series to get the voltage you want.

Looking at your sig, I think it is safe to say you don't need to worry about bailing on the hobby any time soon. Anything you wind up investing now will be put into good use for a while.
