Re: anyone using the spectrum 12?

I am using a 12 and 2 - 9 channel recievers. I found in my jets i was getting a high fade count so i moved my recievers to the wing tips and top of vertical stabs now the fade count is almost 0 . Before i did this i had a 2 second lockout that could be duplicated on the ground , since i moved the recievers everything is perfect. I use 2 A123 packs per aircraft.

Moved recievers to wing tips and nose on this airplane

Thats the same setup I have except I am running a 9 channel and different batts. JR922 with 4 sats, two outrage 2500mha R/X lipo's into the spectrum 6V/10a regs, and a TP 5000 for turbine.
Hey are you installing the switchs for the reg's or just going with direct plug in?

They arent 8711s or anything that powerdemanding however. Sorry i have no experience with the receiver question.
The Spectrum 4000 mAh packs I have are about 2/3 the size of a deck of cards, and pretty light weight.

I wanted to use two receiver packs for redundancy rather than capacity, and its just that I bought the 4000's. Like I said I know I will be good for a whole days flying (they recommend these packs for big jets or 40% IMAC planes).

Eric,
I have just gotten comfortable with Lipos over the past two years, have invested a lot in batteries, chargers, etc. I find them easy to use and so far safe as long as rules are followed. The last thing I want to do now is start into yet another new type of battery..

As for fast charging, with the two packs (which can safely be charged in an hour) I can fly more flights than I will want to in a day's flying... at least 7 or 8 with a large safety margin. And they are light weight. And I already bought them

Hi Andrew
I'm useing JR 12 X and JR 1222 power safe RX with 4 remotes on 2.4 in my KingCat.I range checked it twice, one with engine running one not. Both times check for about 1.5 minutes with friend moveing airplane 360 degrees, Each time checked with the flight log, both times all numbers were well within the limits. Useing 2 4000mah for RX and 1 4000mah for ECU. Only had one flight on it so far but every thing seems be working great.

Also, having 12 channels will allow all servos to be in their own reveiver ports and no Y harnesses needed.

1- throttle
2- elev 1
3- elev 2
4- ail 1
5- ail 2
6- flap 1
7- flap 2
8- rudder 1
9- rudder 2
10- nose wheel steering
11- retracts/brake valve
12- airbrake

anyone using the spectrum 12?

For my Scorpion (which I am putting 6 JR 8711 on main flight surfaces, and two digital wing servos on the stabs) I am going to try 2.4 for the first time in a jet.

My flight system will be:

dual Spectrum 2 cell 4000 mAh lipo battery packs ---> dual spectrum 6V/10A regulators---> Spectrum 12 channel power safe receiver with 4 remotes.

this should be a bulletproof system... I hope

Anyone flying this receiver yet?

With the dual 4000 mAh flight packs (and a Thunder Power 3 cell 5000 mAh for the turbine), I should be able to fly all day without recharging!
