Re: 3 blade prop choice Quote:
a plane flying 16" 2 blade props would be better to go with a 14" 3 blade. Neil- what size prop are you currently running in your spit at the moment? I looked up the specs and the OS200 should be running on approx 16" 2 blade prop. I would recommend this 14-7 3 blade as a starting point. Here is one from Master Airscrew http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXAA40&P=ML |

Re: 3 blade prop choice The quick answer (deemed rule-of-thumb) is that you reduce the diameter or pitch one inch when going from two to three blades. For example, a 10-6 two blade comes out to a 9-6 or 10-5 three-blader. First step is to see if the manufacturer has a recommended range of props for three-bladers. |

3 blade prop choice I have a Kyosho Spitfire 90 with an OS FS-200S-P engine. I am wondering what size (and brand) of 3 blade propeller would suit this combination as well as if there is a brand preference. This plane will be able to fly faster than scale but I am more interested in torque than pure speed. |
