Re: Cable for flying wires ? It's where you have metal to metal contact that you have interference problems. Isolate everything and you won't have that problem. |

Re: Cable for flying wires ? There are lots of nice steel wires on the market but they can cause serious RF interferance especially if spark ignition is involved and especially if you are still on 72 MHz. I have found that the Kevlar cord is the most reliable on big biplanes where there are a lot of wires. |

Re: Cable for flying wires ? I use fishing line made by Berkley. It's calles Steelon, nylon coated wire. 20 lb test. 30 ft per roll. I get it from CTC. Just wiring up a plane with pull, pull on a flying stab as we speak. Well almost. To bind it, I twist it back on itself then use a match to melt the coating to itself. Never had it come loose. |

Re: Cable for flying wires ? Thanks for the link Raymac! I've been looking for flying wires but have never seen anything suitable that would be both light and not stretch. |

Re: Cable for flying wires ? I use U-Control wire. Hard to find nowadays. Brodak sells some. If you know a modeler who used to or still fly U.Control, you might be lucky. |
