Re: Alberta Slope Patrol guide

To be honest even though I have owned my ahi for a few years, I have only test flown it once. It's heavier . Different animal than the alula. In the same conditions I had to keep the ahi moving fast all the times whereas the you can putz around with the alula more without worrying about it stalling on you .

You're obviously right place, right time today!

Question ... how do you like the Ahi in conditions somewhat similar to the Alula?

Re: Alberta Slope Patrol guide

The application I envisioned was as a small sloper .... it looks very capable of being used in that role.

I stay away from powered slope flying, Locals(and bylaws) take a dim view of anything with a propeller, But are with a wind powered glider. A powered plane is unnecessary to begin with and it's easier to stay under 250 grams total weight. My Alula is 170 grams and the altered one is 205grams.Plus it with fly for 2 hours straight. Hard to get flight times like that while feeding a motor and speed control. New laws and restrictions and common sense kinda dictate the choices of airframe I can use, But it's hella fun

Yes they are fun, I fit a set of dream-flight Libelle wings onto an alula body and came up with this 49 inch monster alula in the video.
