Re: New DA-60

Mike Fritz has a DA60 in is 17.8 lb Extra and its on mtw cans. Spinning a 24x10 prop it is unreal power. Should see this thing go up. Its nice and quiet to. He did a good amount of experimenting and it was surging on smaller props sounded like a kid on a dirtbike. Now its smooth and strong.

Mike may want to chime in here?

Re: New DA-60

That is why I use a Walbro felt clunk in my fuel tanks. Ordinary screen type filters that are used for glow engines are not fine enough for gas engines.

Re: New DA-60

My D.A. 60 started running funny --- would not go full throttle , ---- had to clean the screen in the carb. already ( was starting to plug off the fuel ) --- working fine again .

Re: New DA-60

They may have changed it by now but the first compact muffer was too restrictive and I lost allot of rpm with it. I have them for my DLE 55's as well but they work good on it with no loss. The standard one is larger and shouldn't be a problem.

Hi Super08;

On your D.A.-60 --- you stated in a early post that you tried a - ( Jtec compact muffler ) and it did not work well !!!

What is the differance between the ( Jtec Compact ) and the (Jtec Full Size ) If you go with this muffler , i would like to know your thoughts on it !!!

Thanks

Re: New DA-60

[QUOTE=TBrum;847900]Normally I wouldn't but the 92" WS will surely not even feel the weight and the DA60 on the DA muffler is so obnoxious!!!

Trev[/QUOTE

I agree Trev they are loud --

You can't even call it a muffler --- there is nothing in side it --- just a open chamber in the muffler ---- I call them a exhaust diverter !!!

Just back from the Airdrie ( Alberta ) air show . What a good day. My wife ( Evelyn ) liked the F-16 and the F-18 the best . She was in the Air Force and the sound of them brings back memories for her !!! The Edge 540 was a highlight for me. I must build myself one of these some time ( 50-60 cc) ---- Maybe the Top-Dawg !!!

You do have a light plane there ( Top-Dawg-Rc92 in. ) --- My Aeroworks is 17lb 12oz ( no fuel ) -- it seems to be fine with the 60 ( don't notice any big difference in vibration )

Keep up the good work for Jack ( 4- Red Heads ) i have been with you through the build and getting good points on building . Will be watching your up coming build ( Yak with the Radial motor )

Thanks Ray
