Re: rudder hinges on a 30cc To clarify, thread the music wire through the hinges from the bottom and use it to drill through the counterbalance. Once the hole is there there's no problem. once the wire is in place you can use a piece of scotch tape (or covering) to keep it in place. Regards, Dennis |

Re: rudder hinges on a 30cc Hi Todd, Use a length of .047 music wire. Put the piece of music wire in from the bottom and use it to drill through the counterbalance. One you have the hole through, pull it out and put a double 90 degree bend in the wire and push it through from the top. Here's a pic. |

Re: rudder hinges on a 30cc Piano wire may be the way. Now where to find a 6" long drill bit that small in diameter. It's a tall counterbalance to drill through. |

Re: rudder hinges on a 30cc As Glen said piano wire, my 40% Yak came with piano wire, one piece with a 1/2" bend at the top, so you could remove the rudder if needed, glad the plane made it back in one piece. maddog |

Re: rudder hinges on a 30cc How many pins are out? can you replace them with a continuous piece of piano wire the proper size from bottom to top or top to bottom. Bend it at the end to lock it in the rudder. |

Re: rudder hinges on a 30cc If you can't insert another pin from the top. I would just cut the hinge connectors off and install robart hinges points. |

rudder hinges on a 30cc Anyone have any ideas how to repair this one? The nylon hinges are intact. The pins just came out in flight. |
