I've thought about the folding idea too... I'm travelling in the near future via air and sort of thought about how I could build something here at home as carry-on that I could easily unfold and /or quickly tape together at my destination, fly, and fold up on my return. Hmmm... now you got me thinking J |

Re: Indoor designs A man after me own heart!! Great fun to experiment. Here's another of my experimental ones made from $ store foam. This one died from old age, about 6 yrs old. I'm in the middle of building another one much bigger, about 3 ft wingspan. I was thinking it was going to be hard to get it in the van with the other planes, so I'me going to see if I can hinge from nose to tail, the upper and lower halves to see if it will lay flat. More fun. |

Re: Indoor designs Hey I like those Gord... I wouldn't call 'em clunkers . Here's my latest brain fart off the board.... when I was a kid in elementary school I either learned how to build or just plain designed this paper airplane/glider. Then one day I saw a Bugs & Tweety like cartoon where a mouse hops on a paper airplane and magically adds a prop to it and flies around. Ever since those years I've wanted to see if I could make a paper airplane into an RC controllable model. Well, it's not made of paper, but it's almost the exact size. The paper plane in the pic was 4 grams and my foamie turned out to be 18 grams. So... if it flies I'll be elated... if not, I'll hang it on the wall and move on to my next dream . Oh... and the colouring was Sharpie madness Cheers, J |

Re: Indoor designs Gene Bond developed several designs using 1/4" blue Fan Fold Foam (aka Dow BluCore). You can find them on the EFlightWiki: http://www.eflightwiki.com/eflightwi...e=Portal:Plans You can find everything from Parkflyers to Warbirds in there. Many of the designs are under 30" ws and can be easily scaled. Of course you could substitute 6mm or thinner Depron (Midwest Cellfoam 88 ) for the blue FFF. |

Where did you get the designs or the concept for them? Failing that, what are the dimensions and motor/battery/ESC combination? .....NEVER MIND (Miss Emily Latella, SNL -- Gilda Radner) -- spotted Bill's thread just below AFTER I'd posted the original question |
