Re: Want to buy a 450 heli

Good to hear Akabek. I I think I'd join a club for that reason if I was in one place long enough.

I joined the Aurura club and the folks have helped me out a lot. Meeting others with experience has been a definite asset.

Re: Want to buy a 450 heli

I have had no issues or regrets going with the Pro 3GX system as a newbie. Granted I have not put a lot of time in flying the heli recently but if you take the learning processes one step at a time it is not a problem. If you do fly above your means you will crash but that just gives the opportunity to rebuild and learn how it works.

Re: Want to buy a 450 heli

I don't know why you figure you will crash , I had a couple of align 450 choppers . everyone told me the same thing ,it will take years ,you will crash ,I even bought spares when I purchased the choppers . fact of the matter I never crashed once . I was flying nose in in a week , it really is pretty easy to fly a chopper ,I am not a 3d flyer by any means but I could loop stall turn fly backwards . actually found the whole thing quite boring so I sold everything after 2 years with the spare parts I never needed and went back to planes .unlike a plane with a chopper you don't have to commit any more than you feel you can handle, kind of took the thrill out of it for me(was kind of like walking in from the shallow end of the pool,I am more of a cliff jumper LOL) . just take your time and you will have no trouble. I think I would have bought the sport, if I was a newbie like him. Its SO much easier to work on, than on the pro machine. Its also easier and cheaper to fix the belt drive, tail assem. rather than the drive tube. JMO. Keep looking up!

Re: Want to buy a 450 heli

Some time ago I did a side by side comparison of some align versus tarot parts. The tarot parts are cheap copies and nothing more than that. The machining tolerances were not nearly as good, some of the threads were cut crooked and they definitely were not as consistant or as good as the align parts.

My birds are mostly Align, although I did buy some knockoff parts when I was looking for cheap stuff to design a variable pitch tail for my Blade. How good do you feel about buying cheap knockoff crap that was stolen (copied) by a company that doesn't do any of their own R&D? I'd rather spend my money on properly researched stuff. Just my opinion. I'm happy you got a real Align.
