cravenjw, got my brand new MUI from you today, thanks for the quick sale now to buy some more goodies for my new plane that's on it's way. Need a few more things.

ANYWAYS, just installed the MUI in the sbach

I am on the road now and wont be able to get at my TX to do screenshots for awhile. But here is what i would do;

Setup a normal alarm on MUI capacity, for 70% of your bat rating. This is warning you should fly conservatively to avoid excessive voltage drops at load. This alarm is one time warning, no repeat.

Setup a 2nd alarm at 85-90% of capacity. This is its time to thinking about landing!!! This alarm repeats and calls the capacity level repeatedly.

For safety and to avoid LVC, i would use the new Telemetry control feature to feedback a reduction in throttle. Here is how to do that!

First off, upgrade you TX to 3.0 firmware if you haven't already.

Second create a Telemetry control based on MUI voltage. Name it MainVoltage. Enable it. Set it as a proportional control. Setup the boundaries to 30.0, 37.0, 42.0 volts for you 10s setup. This will map those voltages to a -100%,0%,+100% function. Put the filter value on 3 to start.

Next create Free Mix. Enable it. Mix MainVoltage to Throttle.
Set the master gain to -100%. Attach it to a switch of you choice to override the reduction in emergencies and while testing/tuning it.
In the curve, set it to 9pt curve, shape the curve so that from 42V (100%) to 33V (about -50%) the output is 0% (no reduction). Then shape the curve from 33V (-50%) to 30V (-100%) to reduce the throttle by a reasonable amount. I would use 50% to start.

Note this will effectively regulate your voltage by limiting your throttle at the end of the flight. When the throttle and load reduce, the pack voltage will rise slightly.
With a soft/pulse off ESC, you shouldnt see the ESC kick in. It should be set for lower level of action or you Jeti control loop. Its you last resort.

Remember you fly based on capacity alarms. This is just to keep you flying and not tripping the ESC. If you reduce the power use at the first warning, you should be the safety reduction kick in!

At time goes on, tuning the alarms and reduction control so they work for your setup and flying style.

Also note, you should base your capacity not on the number printed on the bats. The is the capacity for a 1C discharge! You never get that in a real flight at 10-30C! This is something you need to tune based on your packs and a couple flights.

At least you got this sorted out man, always a nice feeling knowing you've tracked down the issue after doing a bunch of troubleshooting

Not realy sure what didn't make sense, but any who.

I understood the formula the whole time, and now after thinking about it more. Your absolutely right, because nothing from the esc attaches to the balance plug of the battery so there is obviously no way it could know individual cells

Any reason why you choose to set it to turn off. I've always set mine to pulse or slowdown for exactly that reason lol.
