Re: Zurich glasses...ARGG!!!

Well ......talk about good news and it comes in spades...I forwarded the defective glasses to the Canadian distributor and $12 shipping and got the new design glasses ASAP....less than three days by "sooner-or-puro-lator"

Many thanks to AJ Sales and Service ( Zurich Canada) and Bert and Jean Armstrong for replacing the pair so quickly.. Jim...now I have to baby these new ones...they seem to bend a bit better ( adjusting around the elephants ears)

By the way...catch them at the London RC Swap Meet.

Re: Zurich glasses...ARGG!!!

I ordered wrap-around sunglasses with an insert with my prescription (and anti-glare anti-scratch coatings) for $70 shipping included from another company, going to take them skiing, cycling and running and try them out.

Insurance company paid for all but the $13 shipping.

Mountain Equipment Co-op
mec.ca

$40 will get you top notch sunglasses and they do mail order and they will see to it that you are happy and they are Canadian and they are a co-op

You can spend $200 there as well if you really need the name brand

The program was designed to rate the quality of the lenses as far as blocking harmful UV as wall as checking the darkening in the visible range.

My inexpensive ones we rated too dark for driving.

Another chap ostentatiously handed over his 200 plus dollar designer jobs and was chagrined to find they were too dark for driving, and offered NO protection from UV.

A little girl was next with her Ronald McDonald promo glasses and they were top notch!

The freebies were actually way better than the name brands!
That is a; great anecdote, Dave. Which goes to show that when you pay exorbitant prices for a "Status" pair of designer "whatever" [Jeans, sunglasses, shoes, handbags, etc..] you are not necessarily handing over your money for top quality and technology.....

I will BET YOU that it cost the same to make the McDonalds glasses as it did the "designer" sunglasses
