I agree wrt your assessment of the elevators' likely effectiveness, my low rate throw is on the order of 10° presently and I think high rate is less than 20. Aileron deflection? I'll just have to TLAR that I think. My expo rates are set up to be a tad mushy around center on high rate. Otherwise I try to follow the rule of "fly what you need, not whatcha got."
The twin DLE on the front end fits into that rule as well. Our flying field is at 6,800 ft. MSL and it's impossible to have too much power. Besides, I need(ed) the weight on the front end.
If you have any experience or insights to share regarding the use of rudder for coordinated turns that would be helpful as well. Otherwise, like you, I've got other irons in the fire but I'm eagerly awaiting a chance to take the beast out for its first flight.

I don't remember what the control throws are. We flew it at Joe Nall last year then I was out with it one other time and smacked her in on landing last summer and still not finished the repairs so it is not flying.

I cut down my elevators to a more scale size yet they are still very effective even on low rate which I have setup around 12° I think. I'm flying a JETI radio now and the HB is setup on my JR9503. It's at home but tonight I'll check to see what expo I have setup for everything.

The DLE111 will be overkill. This thing is so light I bet a DA70 would fly it but probably not enough nose weight. LOL!

I couldn't find any info on initial setup. Could you share what you ended up using for control surface movement/throws and any expo used? Mine is completed pending first runup of its DLE110, then it's first flight time for mine. Thanks for any help.
