I love my iCharger 208b. Can do up to 8s and can charge at 20Amps (not sure if it can do 8s at 20A, but it certainly can do 2s at 20A which lets me balance charge my 6000mAh packs in about 10 minutes.
They also have 3010 model (30Amps - 10s)

The Thunderpower chargers are excellent as well.

I really believe that if your going to get a Traxxas RC that has the option for pre installed Castle System to pick that up. The Mamba Monster System is roughly $350.00. Just easier if its all factory installed.

Re: Some guidance please...

Onroad I would say Tamiya for a starter. Not sure what the current lineup is but the TT-01 stuff was very entry level priced and fun to work with. A decent amount of mods are available as well.

As for offroad. Entry level and still good is Traxxas. Very durable and fun with tons of aftermarket hop ups.

I used to run a Kyosho truggy and it was a bit of a pain to deal with. Always had to have parts in my inventory incase I broke otherwise i had to order and wait, the odd time hit up the one place in 'sauga that carried a lot of kyosho stuff (but not everything). In that system i ran the Castle Creations Mamba Monster. It was a great setup, easy to use and install. It was my first Lipo build and was sickening fast. I ended up selling it here on the forum a year or 2 ago because there just wasn't enough people to bash / race with that I was acquainted with.

Overall I think the traxxas will work just fine.

The Mamba Monster is a very popular system and it works great. The other systems out there will cost a bit more but you'll get a sensored system which are a bit smoother. For bashing the Castle system is fine.

I own both the erevo and the savage and will say the savage is probably more durable but... it spends way more time on its lid due to the narrower stance and higher center of gravity.

Re: Some guidance please...

I am a huge fan of Traxxas stuff. I have an E Revo Brushless. It is a great truck out of the box, very fun, pretty big....but does need a few upgrades, such as:

-Summit Axles (Long x4)
-Aluminum Skid Plates
-Steel center drive shafts
-Wheelie bar

Upgrading to two 2s lipos should be pretty obvious too. I have mine clocked at 55Kp/h on the radar with stock gearing. I have also removed the rear wing and added a Summit body to it which it much much more durable due to the exo cage.

I am in no means taking anything away from any other brand, I just have alot of experience with this truck. Its my main stunt truck.
