Re: JR12X programming

Eric I would go with Chris on this one, if you really want to stay in gliders, Acro runs out of stuff very fast. May as well take the plunge and do it right.
Jets eh, I always wanted one of those, just the price and all the licensing and no runway close to here, kind of put me off, so I flew stupid fast electric Funjets until I settled back to gliders to stay. Hey you welcome to come to COGG glider club, we fly west of Newmarket off a sod farm.
If you have a place to fly near Oshawa I am totally willing to come and see you
Seriously, since we are neighbors we could talk, let me know.

Re: JR12X programming

Eric,

I would set the plane type to Glider. Using a plane type of glider, at least on the 9303, changes some of the channel assignments. It will also make it easier to follow the Knight programming. If you leave it on acro you will have lots of frustration.

I have a 9 channel receiver in mine and it just fits. If you put the flaps on a Y connector you may be able to get away with an 8 channel receiver but then you loose the sub trim capability to make sure the travel is the same.

Re: JR12X programming

Hi Dan and Chris I could have all the functions if I used a 12 channel receiver but I don't have the room. Meanwhile I am programming it in Acro mode like my ASW20. I can mix the inner and outer ailerons and mix in crow at full flap. Throttle is on Rt. slider. We'll have to get together sometime. This year will be my first foray into sailplanes since the '70s. Giving up the jets for something tamer. Eric

Re: JR12X programming

You can mix the flaps as well if you want.. Also if you want to use crow braking the setup is to have the flaps down, the inner aileron up and nothing on the outer aileron.

Re: JR12X programming

Don't know much about the glider, or setting up 4 servo ailerons, but with Y connection on each side, you still get differential but same throw. I am sure it is discussed in depth on RC groups thread, just don't see huge benefit in that, does it mix the flap into the turn also?

Re: JR12X programming

If 12x is close to 9503 then you should be ok, shame Sherman did not follow up with 12x or 11x tutorials. I have that setup (9503) on my 6 channel Euphoria with throttle on left slider, flaps on throttle/Spoiler stick, kill switch on right rear switch. The trick is his 9303/9503 manual gets a little fuzzy on the throttle setup and the flaps. You need at least 7 channel rx or it will not work with motor. You need to assign the throttle to one of the AUX channels, 7 ( Aux2 or higher)I think and assign the slide switch to control it. Flaps are assigned to R flap Gear, L flap Aux1. I have to look on my radio at home how I set it up.
I just remembered that this glider is 6 servo wing, 8 servo sailplane, wow. I would just put the outer servos on a Y with the inner ones and treat it as 4 servo wing. kind of a waist of servos, my 4m Euphoria has a pin connecting the 2 ailerons, simple. Anyway I guess you know there is a giant thread on RC Groups on this glider, lots of programming discussions.

Re: JR12X programming

I am not sure if there is one for the 12 X. I have the one for the 9303 and find it very helpful. If the programming of the two radios is similar enough you might be able to figure it out from the 9303 manual. Or, someone else on here can either help or steer you towards one for the 12 X.

Re: JR12X programming

Hi Chris Yes I would like to have the flaps on the thro.¨(Spoiler) stick and throttle on Rt. slider, alternatively I could have throttle on Thro, stick active only on Launch. No I do not have the Knight program for the 12X. Eric

Re: JR12X programming

Are you putting the flap on the throttle stick? Is there/do you have a Knight manual for the 12 X?
