Dan,

I'd be interested in that can you shoot me a PM with some pics and a few more details?

You supply the stuff you can get at the LHS that doesn't need to be worked much; sticks, sheeting, spars, wing tubes, tristock, landing gear and hardware.

I usually find that the cost barely covers the materials (factoring in the waste) nevermind your time at the scroll saw. Pretty hard to beat laser cut for accuracy and fit as well.
Thanks!

What does "short kit" mean?

Re: Extra 300 plans

.........just a little update....

I contacted rcpilot82 over on Flying Giants about these plans. He responded that he does own the rights to Pete Marshall's design and he will cut a short kit for $215 plus shipping, for anyone who's interested. He also told me that he does not supply the fibreglass parts, etc. I think that's a pretty screaming deal.

I'm going to see what Martin at MR Aerodesign or Adrian Page can do for me. Canada first, right guys?

I'm not sure wing position is really going to matter much to me anymore. The fuse isn't really scale anyway. The full size Extra has curved sides, the model is basically flat sided. For an RC aerobatic weapon, fliability is probably more important than scale fidelity.........

Re: Extra 300 plans

Hey Dennis,

I've certainly started dreaming about it, lol. It sure is a great design and I'm really pumped about having such an "animal" in my hangar.

In actuality, I've brought the drawings into CAD and am reworking the wing position a little, kind of 1/2 way between mid and low wing; just to make it a little more scale(ish). Also tracing the parts for laser cutting.

I just got a DL50, a Tru Turn spinner on order, a brand spankin' new Xoar Beachwood 22x10 (one beautiful hunk of wood) and a couple of big servos and other misc. electronics.

'still have to contact Fibreglass Specialties about the cowl so I can make any necessary changes to the firewall shape before getting the wood cut.

I'll probably start the actual building in the fall??

Thanks again Dennis

They're for a 50cc but I'm sure you could hang a little more on there based on the WS.

Link might be broken. If so, send me a PM and your real email address and I'll send you what was very generously sent to me
