Lol
My 500 is on the bench as well (top bearing Block feels like gravel) and the castle hv 80 in the 600 is sitting in the us mid west somewhere waiting on a fix.
Sad days indeed!
Repair a thon is the norm

Re: Helicopter Build-A-Thon Challenge

How about a repair-a-ton? I have 4 on the bench right now. Too busy to fly to repair or build. I guess they will be fall and winter project in order to be ready for spring. The sad part is that both of my 500's are on the bench. Parts for one have arrived. The other can wait.

Gauntlet is thrown: Helicopter Build-A-Thon Challenge

Max - Great minds think alike
We have 4 copterx 250s coming for the indoor season and a plan for four of us to build them in a day.
May try to convince the guys to webcast it (frank, denis, and kevin stop reading here) (ps i have already signed up for the stream webcast service but don't tell the guys)
The copters can be thrown together for 100 bucks.
If it works and there is interest i am thinking about putting together a build of better machine with the help of our LHSs in the spring.
See if we can set a world record.

Re: Helicopter Build-A-Thon Challenge

I can bang together a 450 kit in about 1-1/2 hours.

I have held some worksops in my home for my students heli's.

From box to flying in my backyard in <3 hours. It can easily be done.

As long as each person has a kit and the hardware/tools, I could easly do 5 students at the same time within the 3 hour window. Then why stop at 5? 10? 20? 40.

Hmm.... 40 at once would require a hall, each person having thier kit, tools and enough space to build on, a camera aimed at my work bench while it is hooked to a projector system.. A PA system... Yeah, it can be done.

Rekit? That normally requires a high speed and sudden coming in contact with the earth.
