Re: What is the smallest size indoor heli

The vbar is obviously better but the walkera 3-axis gyro is built into the receiver so it's a pretty compact unit. Works well enough for this size heli. I have the 4g6, 4g6s and V120d02 and the v120 definitely flies the best.

Re: What is the smallest size indoor heli

I fly original 4G6 with flybar and it flies pretty good to me. I mainly fly it indoor, but I have a big room.

It is a bit tricky to set up right, but after some unevitable practice, it is not that big of a deal.

Biggest negative is that it requires separate Tx and if you fly 'standard' Tx, this one has to be modified - swap TH and flight mode switches. Good thing is that old 2200 3S LiPos fit nice Tx.

Here is old, old video of rare occasion when I fly outdoor:

I did not try newest Walkera FBLs, but I trust old flybar, rather then unknown for me FBL unit from Walkera. I will start comparing it to VBar and I am not sure Walkera FBL win.

Your right it is fixed pitch! Boy am I stupid well I don't want that one. Yes CCPM is what I want and nothing else. Thanks Froghammer.

Is that not fixed pitch? I thought you wanted a ccpm heli.

Re: What is the smallest size indoor heli

the 3-axis gyro and reciever are one unit so you won't be able to use your futaba tx. it's also not so simple to replace the receiver as the servos use much smaller connectors. it is a pretty good heli though.

As I stated in my pm though, hobbyking no longer carries walkera, they are just clearing out their inventory. They have not brought in a new walkera in a year or more, the newest model they ever carried is the 4G6S which was replaced by the V120 series last year.

Re: What is the smallest size indoor heli

Also, in post #8 - I was just kidding.. Y'all need to take some vallum and relax a little. Geez! :P

And as it happens - there ARE larger helis that have tail motors as well. The maxi joker - a 90 size ship designed for camera hauling uses an electric tail motor rather than a direct drive belt or TT.

Re: What is the smallest size indoor heli

The 4G6 (with the shaft drive tail) is a great little 3d machine. But since you don't care about 3d, I'll say this:

Tail motors have their place. For hovering around and forward flight the mCPx tail holds just fine.

None of the smaller helis will be immediately compatible with your futaba radio. The e-flite ones will all bind to spektrum/JR, and the walkeras use their own spread spectrum technology so you're forced to use their radios. The only way you're going to get one of the little guys flying with your programmable futaba radio is by adding in your own receiver which even if it's possible will add weight.

Re: What is the smallest size indoor heli

I prefer a T-Rex 500 for indoor everything else stops til your done.... that way no one flys into you and causes you to crash, ever seen a vapour after a battle with a t-500???? Fly large fly safe everyone's out for themselves.
