I have had locators on aircraft that didn't work because the battery ended up twenty feet from the locator. (One crash I experienced was 95 feet from part A to part Z!)

A Great Idea!

But It is just a High tech twist on an old idea that has been done before with the likes of 'Be Found' etc.

I'm sure that it works and it is an improvement on all of it's predecessors, BUT! ... it still suffers from the same flaw...

MOST crashes are VIOLENT! as such the signalling/locating device is often torn from the batteries or wiring. Then they don't work and you have to keep looking for the plane the old fashioned way.

But I still like the concept!
