OLD PRAIRIE RED NECK
Re: UFO sightings soar to new heights in Canada

A friend of mine told me a very similar story about him and his brothers as kids making one and setting it loose north east of Edmonton. They watched it go out of sight and then went on to other things.

Later that evening a couple of military police stopped by for a chat! Seems the Namao airbase picked up something on radar in the flight lane over the runway that turned out to be a big plastic dry cleaner bag with a tin can full of flaming gas line antifreeze suspended under it.

They were not pleased!

"TRUE STORY"
We had this operation one night that went all night. It was one of those radio silence operations where the pilots were to get their instructions from the local radio station. There was three lights about the size of aircraft nav lights. One red, one blue and one green. they were about 500 feet in altitude and half a mile apart in a triangle. They stayed stationary for about four hours.
The radio silence operation turned into a disaster when one pilot said "WHO DAT" and the next said "WHO SAID WHO DAT", and the next said "WHO DAT SAY WHO DAT TO WHO DAT". You can guess what happened after that.

Years ago in the rural lake shore neighbourhood We lived in I would launch a few of these every Halloween Night knowing lots of kids and parents would be out and about and that the surrounding forest was basicly fire safe. I used a balsa stick cross as a spreader with birthday cake candles attached. With the evening atmosphere inversion they would be carried out over the lake to drift along for many many miles of exposure to the lake shore residences. For days even weeks after I would hear the stories at the local Store/Post Office about the sightings of strange flying objects glowing in the nite sky and then suddenly glowing brighter and disappearing. (due to some candle power loss and deflation of the dry cleaners bag collapsing into the remaining candles and igniting the bag)
One incident back in 1994 was even reported to and covered on the local television news with interviews of locals one being the shop foreman at a local fabricating shop I worked at. A week later the truth was revealed to the television reporters with a demonstration, the rouse at the shop towards the poor guy by the crew carried on for weeks after.

Several members of our club suspect the guy with the transmitter is an alien.
