As long as we're being specific, it's GLOW... not nitro. Nitromethane is just one component in glow fuel, the others being oil and ethanol.

I have been researching gas RTF for almost two months now and still don't know what to get!!

I will be joining a club in Brampton but i wanted to have my plane ready when i go there, i haven't visited them yet but will do this weekend and see what they recommend. I wanted to check for opinions on this forum.

The two popular RTF planes i have been seeing in stores in the GTA are:
nexstar select .46 and Alpha 40 from Hanger 9.

nexstar has OS engine, Alpha has evolution. Alpha has the new spektrum radio.

I have been told to go with Alpha 40 but again, i want to check here before i purchase, what do you guys think? or should i pick something else!

I'm not looking for the best trainer, basically looking for stable plane to learn on with an instructor.

My next question is, would it be ok to get a low wing since i'm getting supervised by a trainer or i should stick with high wing for now!

If you haven't got a plane yet. the alpha 40 is great. bought one in january. easy and slow flying, when you get bored of it take the flywheel off and change 3 blade prop to a 2 blade and good speed from it. Bright orange is so easy to see. I am not a fan of the dx5e. one from the trainer is great. bought a 2nd one and it was a lemon. hobby hobby has the alpha 40 for $300. rtf

All Sigs are no longer available also they are not RTF.
my options now boils down to:
1. Telemaster
2. Alpha 40
3. Nexstar select 46

Correction:
1. Hobbico Hobbistar .60 Select (RTF)
2. Alpha 40
3. Nexstar select 46

I had one, flew great. I had a couple issues with mine, but if your going to be getting help, the instructor will likely find them.
