Re: Shipping by Greyhound -good-bad-ugly -UPDATE The name on the bus slip is "EXPEDIBUS" I'm not sure what the relationship to Greyhound is but they're doing business as Orleans Express. That explains why Greyhound had no record of the shipment. Computer systems not talking to each other. Quote:

Re: Shipping by Greyhound -good-bad-ugly Hi Rick - yes I picked it up here in Meaford at the Georgian Bay Motel who apparently are Greyhounds agents. It was shipped Monday - here Friday so 5 days for transit. |

Re: Shipping by Greyhound -good-bad-ugly Did you get to pick it up in Meaford? I was told by Grey Hound that they did not have space for large packages there. Thats the reason I had to go to Collingwood for pick up... |

Maybe they are the reason we expect this from others. If a Package is sent and insured and it's not time sensitive then the Bus is an awesome option that more should investigate. It appears the other 50 some dollars is used to maintain a Database by the Courier Co. Glad to hear you got your "new toy" How many days was it in transit? |

Re: Shipping by Greyhound -good-bad-ugly -UPDATE Ok - I don't get it. At about 9.00am today I called the Greyhound Package number - the lady there did a system search and informed me that they had no record of that tracking number. At about 9:30am I was half way through an e-mail to Michel at AMR asking for assistance when the phone rang. It was the local bus terminal saying there was a big box there for me to pick up!! Down I go and the plane was there and everything was in good shape. All's well that ends well but don't use Greyhound if you want accurate tracking info. According to Michel courier costs for that size of box would be about $78.00 - big difference from $25.00 so in the long run it'll be up to the buyer's comfort level with not knowing what's happening with their shipment. For me the jury's out on my next order from AMR. |

Re: Shipping by Greyhound -good-bad-ugly Interesting that there are delays and Parcels remain behind somewhere. I reckon Luggage with Owners on board takes priority over parcels. A Package from Ontario to NS I received was with three different bus lines. Everything (except 1pc) moved according to schedule, like a Live Body would It traveled depot to depot. There was 4 parts, and 1 of the pieces came a day later, as it got bumped in Moncton. well that's what I was told |

Re: Shipping by Greyhound -good-bad-ugly Did I forget to say it took some time when shipped by greyhound. If I recall, it was close to 3 weeks before I seen the pkg. But it did arrive. |

Re: Shipping by Greyhound -good-bad-ugly Greyhound had my plane sitting at there depot for 2 weeks ,seems they lost the shipping label from AMR and never did anything till AMR got invauled looking for the plane. The shipping cost was included in the plane and was in good shape. |
