I Never Buy Finished Products From Any Company, I Think Is Better To Buy A Kit And Make My Way Reinforcing And Changing The Things As The Past Showed Me To Do.
Do Your Way Is Better Than Trust Any Company And If For Any Reason You Will Wanna Buy Any Arf Kit, Check It All For The Quality And Reinforce Or Change The Model Because People That Is Watching Have No Idea If Your Model Will Fall For Quality Problems.

Mr Anderson(president of not so great planes) you are zero for four. I will never,NEVER!!! again spend one cent on your products. i turned 49 yesterday and i figured i have another twenty years and untold thousands to spend on this wonderful hobby and your company won't see any of it. end of rant.. john
The Vipers you had are they the Quickie 500's, Had one very heavy, landung gear too short, weak firewall and the V-tail incidents was away out, had to add positive incidents.
I have .60 SHoestring ARF, .75 Lil Toni and a .75 Tigermoth all great quality and all fly very well.

I find it hard to blame any company for selling what they sell ,after all it's my job as a consumer to research what I am buying however I find it impossible to excuse companys that wont support their products .saying that I have a coupple of great planes aircrafts and the only problem I have ever had is when I found out my 1/3 cap was prone to the the wing tube folding ,I had been out of the hobby for 2 years when I found this out and the plane was 4 years old at this point and with no proof of purchase great planes sent me a new wing tube N/C.can't beat that for service.Roger

Recently purchased an escapade, rear fin came with only one of the rods threaded, called product support and they said they would ship me a new one.It came yesterday, only it is for a Cherokee 40...lol.. Guess i will glue the tail on,the rest of the arf looks to be of decent quality, really nice covering job..

Only downfall, the variety of aircraft is limited. Other than that, you won't find a better arf.
I have an ARF from 3DHobbyShop as well, and have to agree its a really well made kit... At the time they would ship via USPS, but I called back for replacement landing gear last year after one cracked on me and they would only ship UPS to Canada now... and we all know what that means.

Too bad too... its a great plane and has help up fantastic even after 3 years of my landings

Top Flite makes the Piper Arrow (real)kit. Kinda-sorta-similar to the Cherokee but bigger. Have you checked that out? Building season isnt too far off.

Re: Great Planes products SUCK!!

I've had a Great Planes 40 Cherokee for 6 years and it was the sweetest thing to fly. Just like a pattern ship. Wen't where you pointed it. It was the old style "real" kit. It unfortunately met with a landing light on a real airstrip at a recent fun fly so am replacing it (somewhat reluctantly) with their arf. I'm looking for anyone with experience in assembling and flying this bird.

Re: Great Planes products SUCK!!

I dont think an ARF that needs a safety recall has survived long enough. Ive got the GP P-40 combat 25 size and it seems to be holding up ok. When assembling it, I thought it would make a neat little kit. Thereby giving you the peace of mind that you alone built it and were responsible for the build quality. Had a ten year old Plymouth mini van recalled for a faulty rear window wiper motor. ten years old! and they replaced it free. No charge. Made me feel like-a-somebody
