Re: Attaching FPV Camera

I removed the plate and mounted the swivel to the frame using two bolts through the holes in the frame where the plate normally goes.. So it doesn't swivel but is sturdy enough and doesn't appear to amplify vibrations.

I guess it depends on the camera and case.

Judging from the camera/case in the picture in post 1, I suspect it's very similar in size to the one I have.

On mine I had a Sonny 700TVL camera and case. It would definitly not fit with my case. I had to take it out of the case, and even had to cut the PC board to the second level (the board is designed to do that) so that it would fit. Lots of hot glue is all it needed.

Out of curiosity, can you post a couple of pictures of your camera setup?

I'm away and cant take any pictures of mine at the moment, but can post a few next week when I get home.

I think that case is way too big to fit in between the opening of that 250 frame.

Unless you plan to use the existing swivel as a tilt pivot for keeping the camera looking adead while your drone is flying, (which I dont recommend because that pivot is based on screw tension), get rid of it and hard-mount your camera to the quad.

If you plan on using the existing case, you can mount the camera on top or in the front. HOT GLUE is your best friend as others have mentioned.

Also, depending on where you got your camera and what else came with it, you should be able to remove the camera from the housing and it SHOULD fit inside the quad frame so that it looks through the opening in the front of the quad as you show in the picture. Then its HOT GLUE, HOT GLUE and HOT GLUE.

at last resort, hot glue is your friend, followed closely by duct tape

That plate is for a board camera. If you want to keep the swivel get rid of the plate.

How attached are you to that swivel mount/camera case?
