Re: Ottawa - boot camp & possible seminar

Hey I was just vocallizing an obvious HINT! - Wink Wink of an observation on someone I feel most deserving! Not to get side tracked but maybe MAAC should revisit this old old rule on "L" Be a member for 10 years? Leadership is about the quality of the person making things happen for the betterment of MAAC. Most people be totally burned out after ten years!

Just my two cents 19430-L Ken Park

So in other words, it has to start by a nomination at a zone meeting. If pass its brought up to the AGM after.

Great thoughts Ken. Thanks for covering the event. I just went through your pics...wonderful!
You have a good idea there about getting an L after her number...
Food for thought going forward.

I was very happy to see a number of new to IMAC folks out, including several of our Stetson Aerobatic Interest group who are gung-ho to keep learning more....

Thanks to Isabel, Dave Rees, Tom Hastie, and all the pilots who came out to Stetson Field to give this a go!
We in the region will never have a better year than this one to get involved with IMAC.
Two regional events plus the Nats all in the valley! Yahoo!

Stetson Flyers Host IMAC Boot-camp!

Ok guys and gals!

After an excellent weekend of flying - Iam amazed no one is bragging about the good fun and very instructive IMAC event that was hosted by the Stetson Flyers of Ottawa

Isable you should be feeling 10foot tall today as you did a fantastic job of stepping up as the chief instructor for the event - Your lessons and leadership were eagerly appreciated by all. Many of the faces at this event are the young guys who just completed the wings program and Bang they stepped up to try Basic. It was obvious to see a vast improvement in just one day of instruction. Even old dogs like myself gave it whirl. Iam sure I may attempt at least one contest this summer.

OK Canada!!!! there is still lots of time this summer to jump in and give IMAC a try!
I did I like it and I will be back! Please testify cause I wasn't the only one there.

PS I hope Isable has a letter "L" on her MAAC card if not its way over due!

Hi Jim,

Since you are a moderator for RC Canada, are you able to split this thread into two? Because it became overtaken by another topic and I'd like to post more info on the seminar & boot camp but don't want people to have to click through 6 pages of a different topic... if you can't then can you rename the thread title to something else (like "became off topic") and I'll start a new seminar/bootcamp thread?

Basic sounds like fun - I'll give it a try this year.

Cheers,

John,

You WONT be disapointed.

Once you fly it a couple of times you will be wondering why you were missing out on all the fun the last few years. Gives your flying PURPOSE rather then just boring holes in the sky burning carbohydrantes!

Most guys that I've seen try the basic sequence at a contest for the first time come out looking like completely different pilots by the end of the weekend! IMAC is awesome for learning to fly new maneuvers and with precision!

Your new plane will do the sequence just fine, too!

I'll definitely be there if I can get away from the shop that weekend!
