Re: Learning to fly

This weekend will be nice, I'm sure you'll be shooting approaches and landing. Keep at er and it'll just click. Which Georgetown field are you flying out of, is it the 10th Line & 10th Sideroad?

How are the guys at allowing Guest Flyers? Looks like a really nice field.

Re: Learning to fly

No landings in fact last Wednesday was my worst day yet. There was a fairly hefty cross wind but I screwed up every approach, I just could not get the final turn correct. If it had nor been for the forgiving Apprentice and a good man on the buddy box I'd be replacing a plane. Hopefully this week will see some improvement.

Hey Andy, by now you would have landed and if not checked out, you're really close to getting your wings. Are you there yet?

Updates please.

Breathing helps with the knee-shakes! Lessens the shoulder muscle tension too!

Thanks for the advice, actually we do time my flights and most times only take 70% out of the batteries. Even though I normally have 3 batteries charged we leave it 20 to 30 minutes between flights and by then my knees have stopped shaking

Re: Learning to fly

One thing that happens to the new guys when they're cut loose is they try to stretch out their flight times. Keep flight times reasonable, there are lots of things come to mind during a flight. Muscle (fingers/thumb) memory tends to suffer if the brain is concentrating on every external input.

It called a "brain fart" I've had a few! Every individual reacts differently!

Re: Learning to fly

Hey Joe do you have next weeks lottery numbers because you read my future with you last post. I started taking lessons at a second club on the weekend. After a few minutes flying the trainer said things were going so well he wanted me to make some approaches. Scary stuff when you get your plane within 20 feet of the ground for the first time but fun. It makes it very easy when you know with the release of a switch an experienced person is there should you screw up.
I am re-experiencing that same feeling I got the first time Dad let go of the seat on my 2 wheeler and I realized I was on my own

Not yet, I think depending on wind that's next week.
