Thanks Pauld, Dean and Steve.

Glad to hear my likely selection is a good one. As I continue my research I expect I will have many questions.... Sorry.
I have lots to learn about these jets, so I will take my time, as they really in a different league to my nitro and electric planes and helis that I have been flying.

Are build manuals PDF for the Elan available on the net?

Cheers for now.

Yes, that's Kev-o's Elan. A great choice and will fly off Ridge no problem. He used to have a P70 in it and managed to fly it there no problem. He now has a P120 and this gives that extra margin for take-offs if the grass is wet. (U must know how that can happen at Ridge)

The Elan is a great platform. Don't listen to any of the forum crap that it's not a "real" jet. One thing I have observed is that when the wind gets a bit squirrely at events alot of guys wont fly thier jets but you will allways see the Boomers going up. They fly so well they give a lot of confidence and will take off and land just about anywhere. Just spend a little extra and get trailing link gear to handle the bumps.

Hi PaulD,

Yes, the videos and photos opportunity was nice. I hope to attend the September flyin.
Since the Princeton event, the bug is definitely starting to bite as I have been surfing the web forums since. It seems to me that the Boomerang Elan is a really nice jet model to start with.

Any thoughts?
Is this Kev-o's Elan at the Princeton Jet Fly?
Would this be able to be flown off the Ridge Flyers field?

Sean,

Thanks for posting all the videos - lots of great footage there. I really enjoyed the photos video as well.

There are lots of guys around in the jet community that can help you with getting into this side of the hobby so don't be afraid to ask. Kev-o and I have flown off the Ridge field as well so you don't allways have to travel up to Princeton to fly.

Cheers,

PaulD

Hi all,

I am currently a non-jet powered RC heli and plane flyer from North Vancouver and Ridge Flyers in Vancouver. Wow these jets are amazing! I attended the Jet flyin on Saturday June 4th. This trip to Princeton may probably will turn out expensive for my wallet!

For all your guys enjoyment, I share some photos and videos from the morning's activities, that I have posted to my Youtube Channel -

Enjoy! I look forward to the flying in September.

Thanks to all the great pilots at the event. Special thanks to Bart.
