Tomahawk, nice job on the model. Like the artwork on the front.... Hummmm, maybe I'll copy this on my Bristol.
Are you gusy still above water?? Quite the storm that blew through here last night, but I think London escaped the worse..

Anyway, 1/2" Blue foam is available here in London, either at Rona, on Commissioners at Highbury, or, Lowes at Hyde Park and Fanshawe..
I paid 7 bucks for my 2' X 8' sheets, ea.... The four by eights are aruond the 13 buck figure, and harder to get into a car trunk!!!!
Anyway, try Rona or Home Depot or Lowes...

Hi Art. Thanks for the possible businesses that carry the 1/2" foam.
Not sure of the next plane I plan on building out of foam but it is nice to have the thicker stuff available locally if I wish to build bigger.
Here is a seaplane I recently finished out of the thinner blue fanfold.
If you want to see how it flies go to the float flying thread I posted.

Re: Big Blue Foamie

Chris, heres a pic of the joint I made because of the 2' foam width..
Hope it helps..
Also shows the slot I cut for the upright part of the fuse/wing, which is cut from the front back to the le of the alerons..

Re: Big Blue Foamie

I guess I should add, I built mine out of 2 sheets of 2; X 8'.... and, all in one part for the fuse.... See photo..
You have to make a joint in the horizontal portion of the fuse/wing.. I used Carpenters glue and it holds like "Iron"....
My "Pumpkin Pimples" has had over ten flights now, no more since the rotten weather has come back tho... saving it for next years outdoors... Am also in the process of building a Bristol M1C, the same way I built the sBach.....
Three cheers for 1/2" blue foam!!!
