I’ll take it if it’s unused.

I have a DLE 55 in a Chip Hyde DBL vision and it is great.
I now have a DLA 112 iun my Comp Arf Extra and it is just as good. No issues with either engine.

Re: DLA vs DLE - what to buy?

the rear carb has no issues i have 2 dle 30s with a few gal through them and no problems with them other then some minor tuning
and there are a few guys at the club running them with the same results
from what i can see from the break in on the dla with 18.8 vess prop it in only about 200to 300 rmp less then the dle but i am sure that when the ring seats they will be about the same

Yeah my DLE55 runs like a top!! I've had it about a year......right out of the box.....default carb settings last year...started it up, let it warm up at idle and then airborne for the breakin period! 1/4-1/2 throttle flying on my Carden Cuda.

Again this year, default carb settings, she fired up nicely this year!

Re: DLA vs DLE - what to buy?

I have been flying my DLE30 for a while now.
I was having deadstick issues in the beginning as well.

But I haven't had a dead stick in a long time. It came down to the low needle being set to lean.
I have found the low needle on the DLE30 has a wide range of movement that it can be set on the ground. And the engine will sound like its perfect.
Get in the air, and in certain low throttle positions or maneuvers. The engine would die.
I now have the lowend richened up some and it runs like a champ.

I have seen Syssa's, I have seen DLE's and I have seen 3 different DLA's
No issues with any of them other than some were tuned better than others, and breakin wasn't completed yet on some of them.

I cant wait to see your report on it. I been concidering the DLA32 as my next engine too. The DLE30 right from the box had oddles of power but would constantly deadstick. Even after moving the carb to the rear, many are still saying they have issues.
